Activate Learning shortlisted in FE Leader of the Year and Employer Engagement categories at Tes Awards 2021

Activate Learning is proud to announce that it has been shortlisted for two prestigious national educational awards.
The most outstanding individuals and institutions that the further education sector has to offer have been recognised in the shortlist for the Tes FE Awards 2021.

It’s been revealed that Activate Learning’s Chief Executive Sally Dicketts has been shortlisted for the FE Leader of the Year award.
Speaking about her nomination and shortlisting for the awards next month, Sally Dicketts said she was incredibly proud and humble to be recognised for her work over the past year.

She added: “There have been so many people who have shown incredible leadership over the past year, in what has arguably been one of the most challenging for the education sector.

“To be recognised like this, alongside so many other amazing people that work within the FE sector, is an incredible honour.”
Activate Learning has also been recognised for the work we’ve been doing with the NHS over the past year in the Employer Engagement Award category.

Peter Reynolds, Director of Career Pathways for Activate Learning’s Academic and Professional Studies faculty, which has worked alongside our NHS partners to deliver the employer engagement piece that Activate Learning has been nominated for, also expressed his delight at the news.

He said: “We are really proud to be able to support our NHS partners across the Thames Valley and in Surrey and we have really worked hard to be able to support the health and care sectors and develop work-ready, young people to help meet their skills needs.

“I’m so delighted that all the hard work of everyone involved in this project over the past year has been recognised by this shortlisting.”

Julia Belgutay, head of FE at Tes said: “Further education providers have excelled in what has been a truly challenging year, and the amazing individuals, teams and institutions on our Tes FE Awards shortlist showcase that.
“Our judges were highly impressed with the calibre of entries, and I want to congratulate everyone who has made the shortlist – it is a brilliant achievement.”

Following on from a very successful online awards ceremony last year, the Tes FE Awards will once again be taking place virtually and winners will be announced on Friday 28 May 2021.
