This T-level is a two-year programme that combines classroom instruction and significant work placements with employers to give you practical experience in your chosen field. It’s perfect for those who are committed to making a positive impact on the environment and the agricultural industry.
T-levels are new courses that follow GCSEs and are equivalent to three A Levels. Developed in collaboration with employers, they prepare students for work and higher education by aligning content with industry needs. The T Level in Agriculture, Land Management and Production (Livestock Pathway) offers a unique chance to gain real-world experience through industry placements, providing essential skills and knowledge for careers in agriculture focusing on livestock production or pursuing higher education.
How you'll learn and be assessed
Over two years, you will undertake classroom-based learning, developing an understanding of a broad range of issues relevant to employability, such as sustainability, ethical principles, communication, business, climate change and health and safety. Alongside this, you’ll also complete core livestock production and agriculture topics, including anatomy and physiology, nutrition, medicine, technology, and equipment. You will be taught all the practical skills needed for sheep flock management, including husbandry tasks, vaccinations, lambing, lambing stock tasks, shearing and many more.
You will also complete a minimum of 45-day industry placement to further develop your practical skills and animal care knowledge. With this blend of technical study program and industry experience, the in Agriculture, Land Management and Production (Livestock Pathway) is the first step for students on a pathway to rewarding careers in the agriculture sector.
Progression
This specialist pathway route in Agriculture, Land Management and Production will open several opportunities in the land-based sector for you, including careers in agriculture such as a farmer, flock manager or farm management, or a breeding advisor.
Our learners will be in a strong position to progress to higher education and study at degree level, complete a higher apprenticeship, or move seamlessly into employment opportunities.

You will need 5 GCSEs at 4 or above, including maths, English language and science.
Applicants will benefit from having some agricultural experience, but this is not essential
