Alongside the core components of event management, you’ll study broader themes in business, exploring how businesses are run and managed.
There will be plenty of opportunities to get real-world experience under your belt and discover first-hand what it takes to succeed in the events industry. As well as planning and delivering your own event, you’ll engage in practical project work and undertake work experience with an employer in your chosen area of interest.

Throughout the year, Merrist Wood hosts outdoor weddings, car shows, sporting events, fair and fun days, survival events and more. With our 400-acre estate full of beautiful outdoor settings, inspiration is within easy reach. You will be taught by our enthusiastic tutors who have many years of experience with support from our dedicated events team and land-based employers.

Managing events is big business. The UK’s outdoor events industry employs over 589,000 people and contributes £39.5 billion to the economy. In its entirety, the events industry accounts for over 50% of the UK’s visitor economy.
You won’t be stuck behind a desk day-in, day-out. In this sector, no two days are the same and it's often fast paced. Designing and delivering outdoor events presents plenty of unique locations that require a creative approach. You’ll need to be highly organised and able to think on your feet.
